Rail Transportation Manager

Key responsibilities:
- Organise rail transportation to a high quality standard.
- Increase rail transportation sales.
- Operate the company’s own railcar fleet and work with third-party rolling stock.
- Work with freight forwarding companies in Kazakhstan and abroad.
- Coordinate rail transportation planning processes.
- Optimise routes and rolling stock schedules.
- Maintain cargo loading and unloading schedules.
- Advise clients on transportation, tariffs, and terms.
- Conduct monthly monitoring, meetings, and negotiations with cargo owners.
- Process transportation requests, calculate rates, respond to clients, and send requests to suppliers.
- Track the condition and location of railcars and cargo.
- Monitor compliance with transportation deadlines and terms.
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders to organise and control rail cargo transportation.
- Prepare and send telegrams regarding code assignment at cargo departure stations.
- Monitor the timely provision of shipping information.
Our expectations:
- Higher education, preferably in rail transportation, logistics, transport, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience organising freight forwarding services.
- Experience in an international logistics company or a Kazakhstan-based company specialising in rail transportation.
- Knowledge of rail freight organisation and management.
- Knowledge of rail tariff calculation methods.
- Knowledge of rail freight transportation rules.
- Knowledge of the transport legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Knowledge of international transport legislation.
- Knowledge of Polyus and Rail Tariff software.
