Kazakhstan Strengthens Its Position as a Key Eurasian Logistics Hub

Kazakhstan Expands International Transport Infrastructure

Kazakhstan continues large-scale development of its transport infrastructure, strengthening its role in international freight flows between China, Central Asia and Europe.

Significant investment is being directed into railways, highways, ports, airports and digital logistics systems. At the same time, the Middle Corridor continues to gain importance as an international route between Asia and Europe.

Major infrastructure projects include development of the Dostyk – Moyynty railway section, the Almaty railway bypass, the Ayagoz – Bakhty line, expansion of the Khorgos – Eastern Gate dry port, development of the Aktau and Kuryk ports and infrastructure supporting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

The expansion of rail, road and port infrastructure together with logistics digitalisation is creating a more resilient multimodal transport system. For shippers, this means a wider range of routes between Asia and Europe and increasing transit capacity through Kazakhstan.
