Kazakhstan’s Busiest Toll Roads: Key Transport Corridors

Kazakhstan’s Busiest Road Corridors

From January through July 2026, Kazakhstan recorded almost 45 million trips on toll sections of its national road network. The highest traffic intensity was observed in the Almaty metropolitan area and the south of the country.

The Almaty – Konaev highway was the busiest section, with more than 7.1 million trips over seven months. It was followed by Shymkent – Uzbekistan border, with around 5.5 million trips, and Shymkent – Taraz, with almost 3.8 million.

Significant traffic volumes were also recorded on the Astana – Temirtau, Astana – Shchuchinsk and Konaev – Taldykorgan routes, as well as on international highways connecting Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan and Russia.

For the transport and logistics sector, these figures indicate which road corridors currently experience the greatest pressure. The data is relevant for planning road freight operations, estimating delivery times and developing Kazakhstan’s transport infrastructure.
